This year, along with the Primary Care and Surgical Teams, we had a Children’s Ministry Team that visited 7 of the local schools in the Cao Bang Province. A total of 750 students were given gifts, consisting of a pair of rainboots, coat, and backpack, embroidered with “Good Samaritan” on them.
When we visit the hot and humid weathers of Vietnam every summer, it’s hard to imagine that the weather drops fairly low in the winter. However, when the weather changes, these children do not have the proper attire to walk to school, for it is too cold for them.
We hope that with these gifts they will never miss a day of school again, and that they will remember the love that we shared with them, and ultimately the love that God shared with us all.
Here are some photos from our visits to the schools. The children didn’t care how hot it was at the time and were so excited to try on their new gifts. As they walked home, we could easily see their new backpacks and bright smiles traveling up the mountain side. It was a great sight to see.
